Fashion Friday: Tribal

Hi, yesterdays outfit I wore to my first Sactweetup. I was so nervous because I went by myself and I didn't know anyone that was going to be there. I thought to myself if I don't meet anyone than i'll just hide in a corner and be on my phone. After all its the only type of event that its not considered rude to be on your phone the whole time. It was held at Capital Dime in downtown Sacramento, they offered appetizers (they looked delicious) but I didn't get to try any because I had just ate tri tip at home.  I had fun everyone was very friendly. It was nice talking to other people that are into social media like I am, got to follow some new interesting people on twitter. The event is held once a month and I can't wait to go to the next one.

It was so sunny out

Back to School Party ideas

Labor day weekend we decided to throw a back to school party. We just thought about about it very last minute so I have to hurry up and get to planning!!! Its next weekend already!! I thought I would share with you guys some of the cute ideas I found online I haven't completely decided what exactly i'm doing yet or the menu. So let the planning begin. I think  a party like this is such a cute idea, once school starts everyones schedule gets a little hectic. With school, homework, after school extra curricular activities, its a little harder to get to see everyone.

Mom Wisdom

Growing up my mom tried to install plenty of wisdom in me that I can carry on throughout life. So I could be prepared for all the bumps in the road life has and will continue to throw at me. She taught me countless things but the most that stuck are to be independent, to never let anyone talk down to me, that education was very important, to work hard at everything that I do and to treat others like I would like to be treated.

Treat others like I would like to be treated was probably the most that I have been confronted in my life so far. Especially in my younger years with peer pressure and trying to fit in because of course that is the most important thing in the world at that age right. But every time I had a situation I had my mom's voice in the back of my head, saying what if someone treated you like that Mayra. I have lost a couple friends for not talking down to some one or ignoring them, and guess what i'm fine you move on. Thank you mom!
