I finally went to this local makeup studio in downtown Pinky Rose you can find them on Instagram @pinkyrose_4u. They sell a variety of makeup brands like LA Girl, Morphe, Gerard Cosmetics, City Colors and others. Makeup brands well known by the online makeup community. It was a very cute little boutique, I could have browsed forever!! Cannot wait to go back and get some more Morphe brushes.

Veteran's Day Parade

Jons cub scout troop was part of the Veterans Day Parade in Elk Grove this year. He was very excited to be a part of this. Very proud to be able to show his thanks to the troops. They made these adorable little flags out of popsicle sticks and gave them to veterans and thanked them for their sevice.

I can't tell you how happy I am that it finally feels like fall. It even rained the day before yesterday and the temperature has been dropping to 50 degrees at night. You know what that means I can finally bust out the boots and start layering up. I really like the layered look it makes an outfit look so put together. 

I am pretty excited to be collaborating with Macy's through Lifestyle Bloggers Collective and give you guys some idea's on what to wear this fall. When I was in my high school days we would usually end up in Downtown Plaza on Friday's and one of the first stores we would go to was Macy's for their big selection and good sales on quality clothes. And of course, the cosmetics. We can't forget about the days of endless swatching the new lines.

For this collab I thought I would style 3 different outfits to go with these very comfortable Black INC Wedge Booties.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Squares

   I made these delicious squares for the fiesta we had. I wasn't even going to take them out to the dessert table because I had left them a little bit too long in the oven. So they were a little burnt on the bottom. I Just cut them and put them on top of the counter. When I came back later that day to grab something, my brother in laws sister was telling me how good they were. I was like really you're not just saying that because your starving, She said no they were super good then gave one to my niece, who also thought they were delicious. I grabbed one and said ok ill put them on the dessert table.

It did taste really good crunchy at first bite with the cinnamon sugar getting on your lips. Then so moist and buttery like when you bite more inside. They were gone in the blink of an eye. So I would say it was the perfect choice to make for the fiesta.

Growing up with parents that are from Mexico that came here to California with nothing and barely an education. My parents were always on top of me about my education. Especially my dad who would always tell me " Mija buena educacion es lo mas importante que tener" my dads parents sadly had to choose when he was younger who would continue their education and who would have to quit school and get a job to help the family out. That was my dad who had to quit school. His brother went on with his education and became an attorney in Mexico. My dad was always very hard working so I would just have to worry about school and getting my education. It' still something we always tell our little ones about how important education is and how thankful we were to have had parents that pushed us so hard.

Going to school here in Sacramento I remember my elementary and middle school always talking about cutbacks in the school system citywide. We would always have all kinds of fundraisers selling candy bars, cookies, Christmas wrapping paper and even having to go door to door to ask for money for our school through I think they were called Jog-a-thons. We would get sponsored to run around in our schools field.

Friday I tried to make sauteed shrimp in chile verde. It came out ok, I think I should have sauteed the shrimp in the sauce a little bit longer.

Saturday we had a lazy day, caught up with some house work and some homework.

Sunday we went to Walnut Creek to a 1st birthday party at Heather Farms Park. It has been completely remodeled since we lived there.

First Day Of College

Today was my first day of college, I can't believe I finally started on my new journey. I had English writing today and my graphic design class. I have been a nervous wreck all weekend. Just wondering what it was going to be like. I don't like change and like having my routine. Since it has been 10 years since I graduated high school, this was very new to me.

Shadow Couture World Traveler Palette-Swatches

This Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette is probably my absolute favorite. I was a bit skeptic at first and was gonna pass on this palette because when I first saw it I thought the foiled shadows were more glitter shadows. Like I said they turned out to be more foiled shadows and blend super easily and are so creamy. I've played around with the palette a bit I'm gonna try to post a makeup look on Friday. 

Also since having a blogging schedule for the last couple months has helped. Which has been posting every Mon.-Wed.-Fri. I'm going to try to have a schedule on my youtube channel as well uploading every Mon. and Fri. Youtube is pretty time consuming and the only time I really have to sit down and edit for a couple hours is at night without any distraction. I do love the editing process though another way to get my creativity out. Oh and the uploading that is another headache this video was about 3 1/2 minutes and it took about 4 hours to upload.Grrrr. I wonder if there is a time one would recommend uploading? I'm going to look into that. I hope you guys like my little swatch video!

Saturday was my brother in law's birthday, I went to go pick up his cake and was totally drooling over the desserts they had next to the cakes. I didn't even get to take a picture of his cake which was a tiramisu cake, that had an adorable mug on top made of chocolate filled with cream.

Day Trippin-San Francisco

It was Julian's day off and we had absolutely nothing to do, so we decided on a quick day trip to San Francisco. We went the tourists route and hung out at the piers which we never do. We ate all kinds of yummy food, we might have over indulged.

I've already started some back to school shopping here and there. Yesterday I went to Walmart because this mom is on a budget and back to school shopping can get pretty costly. While I was there I remembered to pick up some MARS Chocolates in our favorite bag Caramel Lovers. I like having a bag of MARS Chocolates Fun Size  around the house for La Merienda. La merienda is a Latin American term for the time between breakfast and lunch or between noon and dinner, where you enjoy a light snack and take a moment to conversate.  This is the time when our family loves to catch up with each others day.

When it's time for homework, we have found having a homework station makes it uncomplicated. Before we started using a homework station Jon's pencil would break and of course, there would be no pencil in sight. By the time Jon found one, he would forget what he was even working on. This year we made a more portable homework station that he can move around from his room to anywhere around the house.
